why do you need exterior pressures to strengthen your belief?
shouldn't it be bubbling up internally?
I think that is rather sad and pathetic that anyone, be they Christian or otherwise, needs outside forces to make them believe more

that's a pretty typical reaction when someone is challenging or insulting your faith or beliefs. It happens in political discussions all the time too. The more one side pushes their beliefs or values, the more the opposing side will push back. Many people will get defensive when they are being challenged and that pushes them to reinforce their own side, beliefs, or values even more so than they normally would. It's like a never ending tug-o-war when people talk about beliefs/values. For example, the more a conservative attacks a liberal, the more the liberal will push back with what they believe and vice versa. Many times in political/idelogical discussions people will sound more liberal/conservative than they actually are b/c the opposing side is challenging/attacking them so they try hard to defend their "side" of the argument. And this happends with religion a lot too. So your reaction is pretty typical of what happends when people try to attack your beleifs/values.
But you're right, people should just let people live their own lives and not worry about other people's values and beliefs. If you respect my values even if they differ from yours, then I should respect yours and a lot of people dont do that. They think they are right and you are wrong and don't realize it's just people have different values and beliefs and neither side is necessarily "wrong".

As long as the Christians realize that the more they condemn us to hell or try to convert us, the more it strengthens our own faiths, that's fine. No offense is ever meant by my questions or answers... sometimes, however, I'm sure I type and submit before I think, because I'm good at that with talking too.... :)

well ill probably get a few thumbs down for this but i agree with you, whenever i talk about relegion theres allways got to be someone insulting me just for the hell of it.and sorry guys, but its ussually atheist.i have no problem with atheist as the majority of my friends are atheist, but you dont have to attack us christians for no reason other than the fact you dont like our religion.now if someone attacks an atheist or someone not christian first instead of having a good clean conversation then i can understand that.but i dont really see this question as insulting.

It's not our goal to strengthen or weaken anyone's faith. We're just here to provide the antithesis to your position and have some fun debates. What fun would it be if everyone thought exactly the same thing?
Cheers! ;-)

Really? So the more stupid, arrogant, and narrow-minded you act here, the more God strengthens your faith?
Quite a system he's running, isn't it?

Do you realize you cheapen your faith when you tell us that we are simply evil for refusing to accept your God and that we will burn in hell? Do you have any idea how completely illogical that is?

Yeah, good for you. Then you turn around and make the entire religion look stupid by saying something stupid and insulting us. Bravo.

its sad you need other people to insult you to strengthen what you believe, i believe what I believe because of life expereinces, however i did leave christianity because someone insulted me. but there was more to it than that, it was my family that stabbed me in the back, and they were christian.
