I don't like to talk on the phone and I'm a female. I think its best to have a social life, not spend it gabbing on the phone. I have a limited attention span for gabbing. Advice: if you want to speak with him more often, then be willing to reduce the minutes you spend on the phone. No one likes to feel like they're held hostage by the phone.

It may mean that or it may not. I suggest you find more evidence through a different method. A better way would be to see how he behaves around you. Is he attentive or is he distance. There are many other ways too. Put all the clues together to get a better picture. Not all people like talking on the phone. I for one don't like it. My wife calls me at work all the time. I love my wife and I love talking to her but I just don't like the phone. The thing is that the phone is an interruption to what I'm doing. I get easily distracted by everything else around me so I just don't like it. I prefer face to face conversation. So, it is possible that he trully doesn't like talking on the phone.

Best off asking him, as everyone is different.
Personally, I don't like talking on the phone, either, but I do still call people occasionally. All it means for me is that I don't like being stuck with an object on my ear in order to be with someone. I would rather they come over or we go out and do something. I would rather talk for five minutes on the phone to ARRANGE to do something, not to have the phone being the social event.
Anyway, I would ask him what he means, maybe. I wouldn't say it means he has another female =)

Depends. If a girl says this, she's probably not interested. However, there are some guys that just don't like talking on the phone.
This question really hinges on how much is "every now and then" and how much are you expecting to talk? If its like 2 hours a night you want, that might be overkill for some guys.

No I wouldn't think he was cheating on you just because he does that.
A lot of guys don't like to talk on the phone but still might do it every now and then. Actually you should be taking this as a compliment, he doesn't like to talk on the phone but he obviously likes you enough that he will talk on the phone for you. He is doing something he hates doing for you. Be happy

I'm the same way, so don't take it personally. If I have the time to talk, the phone is fine. But getting calls all the time and especially when I'm busy keeps me from getting things done. So I'll call when it's convenient for ME. Sorry, it's just the truth. Talk to him about it; if he's the same way, be thankful he's being honest and not playing games with you. Good luck!

Guys don't like to talk on the phone because they don't like the awkward silences that occur when they think they've thought of something cute to say, but suddenly realize that it's not appropriate. They just aren't good at talking on the phone. Girls always have something to say. Guys just don't. Statistically nearly a fourth of their thoughts are innapropriate to share. That's a lot to work around. He calls every once in a while because girls demand it, but if they were given a choice, guys wouldn't pick up the phone unless they had to reach the fire department in a hurry. Don't stress about it- it's normal.

Guys just usually don't like to talk on the phone. Maybe he has a lot of family around and doesn't want to be teased for talking on the phone a lot with a girl.

No, I don't like to talk on the phone either. I would rather wait till I am in person to talk. I call people to make plans or get information. That's about it. Jealousy is a poison to your relationships. Do not allow it to seap in. If he doesn't wish to be with you. You will know and feel it.

No! Alot of guys dont like to talk on the phone. In fact alot of them dont like to talk at all. I doubt he is talking to another female. You have to remember guys arent into feelings and stuff. They'd rather talk about movies, cars, and sports.
