The hubris that it would take for me to answer this question is beyond my comprehension. I don't know how many gods there are, nor does anyone else, and I'm a little insulted that so many people here proclaim to with such certainty. No one knows, and that's what the basis of faith is. It's simply that: faith.

I'm an atheist, and I believe that no God or gods exist. I've seen no evidence, anywhere, that can convince me that any sort of god is out there. Upon seeing some, I would be forced to reconsider my position.

If you want to know, Kadija, search for it yourself. Your beliefs will be a lot more special to you if you come to them on your own.

Christianity and Muslim claim there is only one God. Pagan religions claim there are more than you could count, but its a balance. For every God there is a Goddess.
I wouldn't say thousands...but there are alot of them!

They are almost infinite. Man's imagination should never be underestimated! Some American Indian tribes (and some African tribes too) believed (still believe?) that all objects or things are inhabited by a god. There is a god of the clouds, god of a rock, god of a tree, god of the grass, god of marriage, god of sickness, etc.

There are thousands of lying spirits which proclaim themselves gods, and one Creator who will one day judge us all.
