If you're the bride/groom then take a look at all your contracts. Generally tipping is included in most. Like the reception if it's catered by like a restaurant then it's usually included. If you're having a full reception at a place where you'll have servers and a bartender that it is always included, but generally you give each member of the staff a little more. Or when you pay the bill you add on more.

I was told that tipping the DJ, or Photographer or any other vendor is only optional if they do an amazing job.

How much you tip depends on how much you're paying. At a catered reception chances are they included an 18% tip on, and generally a good tip is considered 20% so think of it along those terms.

If you're just a guest at the reception than the only person you need to worry about tipping is the Bartender. Unless you gave the waiter a hard time or something i don't think it's your responsibility at all.

Assuming you are the bride:
1. the minister / church
2. musicians / singers
3. bartender
4. bridesmaids if you didnt give them a gift

That's usually about it. But yeah anyone who makes a big contribution to the wedding can be given a tip after the reception. Usually $50-300 depending on how big the wedding is and how much they contributed.

i've only heard of tipping the bartender..you didn't mention if you are the bride or a guest. if you are the bride, then you may be tipping the band too. there are probably others- but damn! the prices for the florist, the cake, the caterer and everything is already so inflated! maybe a nice thank you card would do.

You don't HAVE to tip anybody.

But if you feel the need to, tip:

Bartender
Band/DJ
Photographer
Officiant
Chef
