Should socio-economic status play a role in the way that police treat the accused? Are the classes treated differently in reality?

Yes your social status has some affect on the way police treat you .But also it is because poorer people are more likely to have a vehicle that is not up to standard .Or to not have a license or insurance because they are poor .Instead of police taking this into consideration or doing anything to give them a break .They ticket them again making their financial situation even worse, in the future .So these citizens who are in the poverty level already .Have trouble getting to a financial status where they are not susceptible to police and constant ticketing .Basically they are being victimized for being poor .Im sure police areaware the people in an expensive new car can afford to fight a ticket and poor people cant

Why pick on the police. Socio-economic status plays a role in the way people are treated - - period.

You rich or famous, people will fawn all over you. You just a poor schmuck, try to avoid being stepped on by the folks rushing after the rich guy.

Yes of course, had OJ been a white redneck with a southern flag flying on the back of his truck, or a crip from the hood in his car, do you think theywould have just followed him talking to him on cell phone, or would they have rammed his car or thrown out spikes ???

Do many homeless people get a date to report to court and drive up in limos and talk to the news before going in to be booked.

Officers don't break people down into groups based upon income level.There are pretty much three catagories.

1. Law abiding citizen
2. Mope
3. Her baby daddy

There are biased people. Some police are biased. Others aren't. Every barrel has bad apples.

You are treated by the way you look and how you talk. That's why it is important to have a good job and higher education. Please pass it on to the young.

by police, yes. it shouldnt be that way , but it is.

it's not just police, its restaurants, stores, medical services, pretty much any service business, or retail business for that matter.

that's the way of the world.

i think so but that's life period. rich people are usually treated better than poverty stricken people. it sucks but money change a person and that's just how people are.
