Brushing is very important when training your hair to get a 360 Wave pattern. It is the most important step in getting waves. Pomades and hair care products are all secondary. You can use all the pomades and gunk you want, but if you don't brush the correct way it will not help you get 360 Waves. In order to get perfect 360 rotation of waves you must brush in a circular direction as well. But the right pomades don't hurt either. Check out this site below, it has EVERYTHING you need to get waves.

For some people it's easier to get waves in their hair than others. Here are the ways to get waves.

1.)brush A LOT. Always keep you're brush on you.

2.)make sure you get your hair cut and washed regularly. It is best to wash your hair at least every other day.

3.) make sure the bristles on your brush are hard enough

4.) Make sure you're brushing right. Start from the center of the scalp and brush outwards towards the hair line. Brush the sides in a slight slant.

5.) Make sure the wave pomade is thick enough for your cut. For a short cut, Sportin Waves (in the black can is the best). For a longer cut Dax (in a red can) or Murrays (in a tannish-brown can) is the best because they have a stronger hold.

6.) Protect your pattern by wearing a wave cap or durag at night.

Brushing is what develops your waves. The only thing that the wave cap and pomade does is enhance the look of the waves by weighing your hair down.
It will probably take a few weeks for you to see any results. If you want fresh waves all throughout your hair it will take a few months. It takes a lot of patience at first but it will get easier for you once you start seeing results.
If you don't have a lot patience you can buy an s-curl kit for waves. It gives you instant waves and it's pretty cheap but it is not permanent and your hair will not get as wavy as it would with the old fashioned way.

IF YOU JUST WANT WAVES IN CERTAIN AREAS OF YOUR HAIR YOU CAN JUST BRUSH THOSE CERTAIN AREAS MORE AND STILL DO THE WAVE CAP AND POMADE THING. ANOTHER SUGGESTION IS TO START WEARING A DURAG OVER TOP OF THE WAVE CAP AT NIGHT BECAUSE THEY CAN GET TIGHTER THAN A THIN NON-ADJUSTABLE WAVE CAP.

I know what you are doing wrong. You are using grease, you should use Pomade. You can get it in the beauty supply store and maybe some grocery stores like Wal-Mart. It is usually in a can with a top on it. Duke is the name of a popular pomade and it works. It is in a round gray tin can with a top on it. Otherwise it seems to me as if you are doing everything right. Try Duke and see if you don't get some waves. I hope that I have helped!!!!!

First of all the wavy-ness, straightness, curly-ness etc of your hair has to do with the natural shape of your hair, that is whether it is round, oval, square, or flat/ellipitical.
Second using a flatening iron, curling iron or what-ever other ironing accessories will help achive the desired effect. Consult a hair dresser for better input, they would probably have examine your hair to give you the best advice to achive the deisred results.

Combing and brushing your hair will help it straighten out. I have naturally wavy hair, but every time I brush it, my wave is gone-gone-gone. Sometimes you have to set-up a wave with bobbypins to help it go the way you want to.
