I am pretty conscious about my chest hair. My school's prom is coming up, and I've been doing a bit to work out to get in better shape for it, but since I have a good amount of chest hair, a lot of the toning is non noticeable.
What I want to know, how effective is Nair or Veet, and how bad does it hurt if you leave it on too long? Also, how long does waxing last, and anyone who had it done, can you compare the pain you felt to something else?

Does waxing make it grow in more or less? I've heard both; that if you do it enough that eventually it will go away, and that it makes it grow in more.

Waxing lasts for a few weeks and will hurt some. The pain only lasts for a moment. Just be sure to go to someone who knows what they are doing.
Nair, or Veet, does work. However, it is smelly and can leave you with a rash if you have sensitive skin. The box recommends that you do a patch test first. I don't know haw much it would hurt if left on too long. You should read the package and try to stick to the instructions.

Nair makes a product specifically for men, but I wouldn't use it if you're prone to sensitive skin. It's a chemical that actually dissolves the hair below skin level and I'm thinking that coupled with a sweaty workout even the next day is asking for a nasty rash.
Waxing causes some pain, and are you prepared to exfoliate daily to prevent ingrown hairs that sometimes accompany waxing?
I have several friends who are competative body builders and they all swear by the good old razor and shaving gel method.
The initial "de-fuzzing" may be a little time consuming, but a few swipes with the razor while in the shower is all the upkeep you'll require.

Alot of people are allergic to Nair and Veet and will get a rash from it that burns like hell. But if you do decide to use it, make sure you test a small area first to make sure you're not gonna have a problem with it. The pain with waxing depends on where you're waxing and how much of a pain tolerance you have. I would image waxing your chest would hurt like hell. I mean it is basically ripping the hair follicles off you're body. I'd say really just keep the hair, alot of girls think chest hair is sexy anyway.

Hmmm. Nair and Veet work fairly well but it can never compare to waxing. If you chose to use these products, just make sure you time it and follow the directions. Waxing usually leaves you hairless for about 1 - 3 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. It hurts, there's no way around it. But it will leave your chest feeling smooth and you will def like the result. (Ps hairless chests are sexy)

I don't advise wax... Think 40 yr old virgin. They're not exaggerating.
Truthfully, my boyfriend also gets rid of his chest hair to show the definition of his pecs and he just uses an electric razor. It allows you to trim the hair back so that you can't see it and doesn't leave room for ingrown hair which are not fun. Nair and veet are okay products but they're definitely not good if you have sensitive skin. You also shouldn't leave it on longer than the recommended time because you can get a nice chemical burn.

Waxing will leave you hairless for a couple of weeks, but nothing can prepare you for the pain that comes with it the first time. I had very little hair too and it still hurt since it was all densely packed in two patches of on my chest and abs. My wife bought for me laser hair removal fas a present. It is fairly painful too, but I don't miss waxing, shaving, or the chest hair.

nair burns the hair off and ive had 2 friends who got a rash from using it, and waxing is alright, yea it hurts but its real quick, but the problem is that if you do decide to wax or use nair then when oyur hair grows back it`ll be thicker so you`ll have to keep up with it. good luck!

Why are you so worried about your prom? - Are you planning on parading around the prom with your shirt off? LOL.
A lot of guys like to shave off their chest and stomach hair when they notice their bodies are getting more muscular from working out. They feel the true results of their workouts can then be seen if the hair is removed. I feel very different about the subject, and I personally feel you should be happy with having a hairy chest! Your chest hair is a natural part of you, and a lot of people find hairy chests to be sexy.
