That is the native name. If you are asking for the scientific name then the previous answer covered that. Except there are two versions in Aus. The standard Rainbow is trichoglossus haematodus moluccanus, and a subspecies known as trichoglossus haematodus septenrionalis. There is also the Red-collared Lorikeet- trichoglossus haematodus rubritorquis. There are many variations of Rainbows. Green Napes, Coconuts, etc.... they come from many different countries.
