Don't cut out fruit. Eat lots of fresh fruit. It is very good for you. Just cut out the sugar. Avoid cakes and cookies and anything processed. Make fresh fruit crisps with apples, berries and rolled oats. If you crave something sweeter, have a small piece of dark chocolate or some sugar free jello. And every now and then, it is ok to indulge. Moderation is the most important thing.

sugar really isn't the problem, 2 teaspoons =16 calories. Its the high fructose corn syrup that is making you crave sweets and gain fat.
