WASHINGTON - A suspected Saudi terrorist told a military hearing that he was routinely tortured by his American jailers into falsely confessing that he was involved in the USS Cole bombing and that he claimed that Osama bin Laden had a nuclear bomb only to please his captors and stop the abuse.

Yes, America has even tortured its own citizens:
Continuously for 8 years under Bill Clinton.
Continuously for 4 years under Jimmy Carter.
We were also tortured somewhat during John Kerry's run.
We are bracing for our next torture should Hillary get elected.

It's hard to say if the man is lying or not, we don't have all the facts of the confession or if he was under duress.
As far as Does the U.S.A. use torture? Officially no, however i believe what happens behind closed doors most people will never know about.

He was in one of the CIA's secret torture camps, that we have them is no longer secret, where they are is!
We torture people routinely!
This man confessed to being behind the Cole incident, when the person that the government said was responsible was assassinated! (Wonder who did that?)
This man has confessed to everything except JFK assassination!
In a word, yes, even though it is a violation of the Geneva Conventions and something Bush will get charged for!

nope not sure about the whole nuclear bomb thing but we did do that to several people then the goverment stepped in and said this was wrong like a bunch of pussys if they can cut our POW's heads of and desecrate there body's and we cant even do a little toucher there is something wrong with this world i dislike Iraq... time to finish this war and bomb them

Yes he is lying. There are so many checks and balances in the military and with the media involvement, if this was standard practice, we all would know.

It all depends on your definition of torture. Playing loud rock music is torture to some people.
