If it's an after-market radio, it's probably mis-wired. The yellow wire from the head unit must be connected to a voltage source that doesn't shut off with the key.

If it's a factory radio, you may have a blown fuse in the vehicle. Many factory systems share the radio's constant power fuse with other accessories like the cigarette lighter, dome light, door chimes, etc. In many cases the factory radio will work without the constant power fuse, but it won't keep its memory settings.

The radio has a wire that isn't hooked up properly. One wire should go directly to a 12 volt source that is on all of the time (directly to the battery) and another should go to a switched source that comes on with the accessories and when the car is running.

if its aftermarket it sounds like the yellow and red wires are switched. The yellow is the batt and the red is the memory

if its stock the same rule applies only the radio is shot or you have a loose wire somewhere

Its possible the yellow wire in the back of your radio is not connected assuming its after market.

if it is an aftermarket head unit you either have the red and yellow wires backwards or the yellow is not even hooked up. if it is a factory head unit then you need an aftermarket or factory replacement

then ur power wires are not corrected right. ur yellow wire will be ur 12v source and the red will be a switch power(when u turn the key it turns on)
