If you see will you believe? Will you worship him then?

I'm just curious to know how you think. No offence intended.

Would a great grand miracle do? Like seeing a mountain rising up into the sky then collapsing back into place?

in most religions, if you see a god, you die. clever way of making sure nobody looks for him, right? if, for some reason, i did though, and managed to survive, i would believe that he exists. i would not believe that he created the world or has any part in running it, because there is scientific evidence that he doesnt.

Seeing is believing however that doesnt mean I will throw away all my morals and instantly start worshipping that god. First I would ask one question... Did you forgive hitler and let him into heaven? if the answer was yes I would never have anything to do with said god ever again. If the answer was no, then I would continue asking questions about that gods belief system etc and what their morals etc were if they were compatible with my own then I may very well join such a god in its religion. But say for example if that god told me what some of its religious followers have said like humans arent animals and human life is more valuable than the lives of all the other species on this planet I would still want nothing to do with that kind of god. You see no matter what others may believe I stick to what is right to me in my heart.. I am not afraid to stand up for what I believe personally even if it did clash with an omnipotent being who would send me to eternal torment in hell because of it... I could never abandon what I hold dear just because another being said thats not what they say is right to believe in. I am Agnostic by the way

Its like this.. I believe what I believe because that is what my life has taught me and what I have found to harmonize with myself... I dont believe what I belive because I read it somewhere of was rasied that way or taught or learned it... what I believe comes from inside myself and from all my accumulated life experience... no other living being be it god or man or alien could ever erase what I have learned in my life and change who I am... I refuse to just worship something because it is omnipotent, if I did not agree with that beings beliefs than I would have nothing to do with that no matter the consequences.

If I saw undeniable evidence that God existed (and evidence showing I was not being deceived or was doped up), of course I would believe. I wouldn't be a real atheist if I didn't, because we atheists follow the route with the most evidence to back it up. So if evidence of God's existence showed up, I would be putting my fingers in my ears yelling "Lalalala" to the evidence exactly like the Christians I hate do to the evidence towards evolution.

However, that time has not come, and as such the most logical, statistically probably, philosophically applicable, scientifically relevant, and morally sound choice is atheism.

I'm not an anthiest, but I will answer your question.

If I see, then I have no reason to doubt, so yes I would believe. I would not worship God after that though. Religion takes a part of your soul and denies you the ability to keep an open mind and let your spirtuality wonder.

If I actually SAW God, and I knew it wasn't a hallucination, and that I haven't been drugged, or that someone was playing a trick on me--basically if I knew beyond a doubt that it WAS God, then yes, I would believe. I don't know exactly what it would take for me to believe it, but I guess I would just know it if I see it.

An Atheist does not make the Bold claim "there is no God". We simply say "we don't believe in it".Give us solid evidence of his existance and I would be unable to find an Atheist ever again. Here in lies why we are Atheist, The lack of proof.

Since none of the things you mention are ever going to happen, your question is a bit pointless, is it not? Athiests are not particularly interested in fantasies, we like facts. The FACT is mountains behave very much like mountains and that is highly unlikely to change.

If I see him, sure. Appearing in physical form and proving his divinity would go a long way to supporting the idea that he exists. I would still have a little doubt and may believe that it was a deception, though. That's just natural skepticism.

If I saw Santa I would think it was a person dressed up in a Santa costume.

The closest thing you have to anyone seeing 'god' is the Virgin Mary on a grilled cheese sandwich.

And some dusty old books full of lies.

if i could see and somehow obtain evidence i wasn't hallucinating he was really there, and the process was peer reviewed and the findings duplicated, then, i would have found proof of gods existence an so would believe in it. that's all us atheists ask for really, some proof.
