It means to use our common sense and act in a generally holy manner.
For instance, there's no specific commandment against being a disgusting glutton. But it's obviously not a holy character trait. There's no prohibition against getting stupyfyingly drunk, but God doesn't want you to do that, because it's not holy.

The Lord said in Genesis 1:27 That He made us in His image. And He is holy therefore we should try to be like Him. If We follow Him and try to be like Him (although no one will ever be perfect like Jesus) We will strengthen our relationship will him and grow as Christians.
