Which is better for cooking a quesadilla, oven or in a skillet on stove? What are the differences in the outcome? (like is one crunchier than the other or harder?) Thanks.

i always make them in a skillet. crunchy and melty and delicious! sometimes i use butter, but if you're looking for a lower-fat version, use a little Pam cooking spray.

i suggest heating your meat or chicken 1st in the microwave if its not warm to begin with. that way all you'll have to worry about is melting the cheese and browning the tortilla.

Oven Quesadillas

I think they're lots better cooked on the stove. On the stove the tortilla will get crispy but in the oven it'll stay chewier. If I were making a bunch of quesadillas at once though, I'd cook them in the oven just because that's easier.

Skillet... The oven just wont give you the golden brown crisp on both sides... with the melty cheese on the inside... Yummmm!
And you don't need to use oil or anything, I used to use butter to give it the golden brown look and the crisp taste but then found that you get the exact same results when you don't use anything at all... Just throw the tortilla on a nonstick skillet and your good to go... skip the oil/butter...

The oven makes the quesadillia hard, the skillet at the right temp will crisp it up nicely and melt the cheese, yum!

I like in a skillet. It is the traditional way to do it and there is a reason for that, it tastes good. If you are feeling daring, try it on the grill. It gives it a nice smokey flavor.

Skillet, definitely. With just a hint of oil. It gets nice and browned and crispy.

TOTALLY BETTER IN A SKILLET!!! They have more flavor, are more fun, are ready quicker. In a skillet, you can have them crispy or soft. I like them somewhere in between. Put butter on the outside, and then put them in the skillet....mmmmmmmm, gonna have to go do that now......mmmmmmmm

I would recomend a saute pan with oil and high heat so you brown the fajita wrap. Cooking in the oven will dry the product out it will make it crispy but you will lose quality.

I just made some shrimp quesadillas in the oven.

YUK!

The insides were fine, but the tortilla didn't taste right.
