First, don't fall for any type of "miracle" detox where you literally starve yourself. Your body is made to take in calories and it is possible to detox and still eat at the same time.
I am currently on a cleanse. I have a juicer and I have been juicing two meals per day (instead of eating) and then eating a sensible dinner. Unlike others who have posted, I still have enough engery to do heavy cario at the gym and all other activities that I normally do.
I juice things such as beets (to clean the liver), carrots and apples. I put ginger or garlic in for flavor. I also juice cabbage (another liver cleanser) as well as cucumber. (that cleans the blood). By drinking fresh juice, you are still getting vitamins and minerals that your body needs.
If you are not able to juice, I would suggest that you go on a raw diet for a few days. No processed foods - just raw fruit and veggies. Eat big salads - no dressing - and drink plenty of water. That is a safe way to detox and you can do that long-term.
I would highly advise against an all-water detox, as it releases many harmful, built-up toxins inside your body. That is not a bad thing, per se, but without vitamins and minerals to carry those toxins away, they just sit there and can make you quite sick.
You might want to visit www.about.com and read about different types of detox diets. They go into great detail about which foods to eat that will target certain organs...they will also tell you how to safely start and end a detox. Those are important!
Good luck.

I did the Hollywood Miracle Diet where you drink this beverage for three days straight and don't eat or drink anything else. I felt weak, lightheaded, irritable, tired, achey and overall unwell. I didn't last to the third day, because I simply had to eat something. However I did lose a lot of water weight during the two days I stuck with it.

Hi
I use Isagenix. There are some days that are only a cleansing drink and some days are protein shakes and one meal.
All the products have a lot of nutrition, so you are not starving your body of nutrients in any way.
It is a bit tough the first day, but if you focus on the results, it is so worth it.
I have lost 22lbs and know countless others that have lost even more!
Check out the website for more info.

Good Luck!

yes i have done it before. you feel weak the first 3 days but it gets better after that. you just gotta hang on. most people give up after like the first day cause they're hungry. i get great results when i do this. i drink water and eat yogurt and sugar free jello. and the most i've lasted doing this was 3 weeks. now i'm doing one for 30 days. good luck.

If you want a fairly easy one to try, pick up one of the Zand's detox kits. It'll put you out about $30 but it's easy to follow and you wll notice the effects fairly quickly.

I just did one last week for 1 1/2 days. I quit on the second day because I got shaky, weak, and numbness in my fingers. I went to see my doctor, and he told me by looking at me that I was low in magnesium, potassium, and calcium. He took blood work. I'm waiting for the results. So, my conclusion is that if you are low in anything, this two-day fast will make it lower until you feel terrible. Just my experience.

i have.
the first day is okay.
the second and third days are horrible. headaches, you have weird odors coming from your body and you can't be far from a washroom.
the fourth day i was feeling better, but i had horrible acne started.
the the migraine hit.
honestly, not worth it at all.
i'm not attached to the company or anything, but someone i know recommended dr natura. i think i'm going to try that later this month. it isn't harsh, but you need to use their product for at least a month to get results.

I lasted 24 hours on one. I felt extremely weak, tired and overall crappy. So, I didn't continue. Mine was a fruit and veggie juice only.

drink water only (you can drink green tea and things like that, just don't add sugar) and eat only fruits and vegetables for about 3 days. You'll feel alot better and have more energy
