It is set up so that all members of the church have the chance to 'attend', if you mean attend in any building to hear the messages.

But if you are referring to only Temple Square, the Conference Center seats 21,000 in the main area - The Tabernacle seats about 8,000 (when including the choir area and balcony) - Then you also have the over flow areas in the Conference Center theatre, the Joseph Smith Memorial Bldg, the Assembly Hall, and perhaps the Visitor's Center (I'm not sure about that with all the refurbishing going on).

So at Temple Square alone, you're looking at 30,000+ people per session. There are 5 sessions to each General Conference - Satuday Morning, Afternoon & Prieshood sessions, and Sunday Morning & Afternoon sessions.

That does not include the Stake Buildings worldwide that are broadcasting conference, or all those that listen to broadcasts on TV, radio & internet at home.

It is hard to tell how many church members attended general conference. The conference center holds about 21,000 people which looked like it was full from what i saw. The tabernacle from the Saturday afternoon session looked full also. Then there are the overfull areas. There is also the priesthood session and then a week earlier they had the young women session. There are those people also who attend it by going to there stake centers, watching it on the television set and radio. I know that there was a lot of people there is Salt Lake City. From watching the news they talked to some people that came all the way from Russia.

Blacks have been consistently allowed to be individuals; they might no longer carry the priesthood till 1978. That reported, there have been blacks that held the priesthood in Joseph Smith's time. Why? i don't comprehend for sue. even nevertheless, the quote you have above from McConkie is his opinion. it is not prevalent doctrine of the church and in my opinion, i do no longer have faith it. there is not any denying that there replaced into some racism interior the church, yet that replaced into something that contaminated the full usa. The habit of this church in direction of blacks replaced into extra suitable than various different church homes a similar time classes. The LDS church in no way had segregated congregations, working example.

I listened to it online, watched on tv, watched it at my neighbors, and watched it at the local stake center. I don't know about everyone else. It was great though. I heard the Conference Center was packed,
