Why would you want to, since you already know the Father/Son and Holy Spirit. So how can you only know God without also knowing Jesus Christ who died on the cross for your sins. If you know the Father then you also should know the Son.

They still will not believe because they don't recognize God and His plan of Salvation! No man comes to the Father without coming to Jesus first! Jesus is God in the flesh and was at the Creation. No one human being could have fulfilled all of those prophecies. The chances of it are 1:100000000000000000000. The Roman government even recorded His actions! They were unmitigated Heathens! There is but one way to Christ John 14.

Yes. In the old testament they knew God, and not Jesus. Also people around the world know there is a God. That He made the world and all that is in it, but they all don't know Jesus. God said we would know Him by His creations. The stars and the skies, the trees, and all the creatures.

That's a great question. As I look at many of the answers to your inquiry, I guess it is assumed that religion (no matter what brand) automatically grants one a personal relationship with the living God. But all these religions do not say the same things, at best, any similarites are only superficial. Do all the religions have an atonement? do all have a resurrection? do all the founders claim to be God and prove it by their life, miracles, and resurrection from the dead complete with eyewitnesses? Only one of them that I know is based on grace and not works. Think of it, Christ says you cannot achieve or earn heaven on your own, you don't even have a chance because of your sin, so stop trying to earn brownie points with God in order to cover your sin. Jesus said He came to save His people from their sins. He claimed to give them eternal life based on His work done on our behalf, not ours. Ephesians 2:8-9 says that "you are saved by grace through faith and that not of yourselves, not of works lest any man should boast."
John 17:3 - "this is eternal life, that they may KNOW you, the only God and Jesus Christ Whom You have sent."
Acts 4:12 - "neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved."
I John 2:23 - no one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also."
Jesus was God's love gift to a lost and sinful world, to reject Jesus Christ is a slap in the face of God. Jesus is the Mediator between God and man (I Timothy 2:5).
John 5:23 - "that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father Who sent Him."
Jesus, the eternal Son of God, was born a Jew, came from a Jewish line, fulfilled Jewish promises and prophesies (Romans 9:5), and His disciples were all Jews and most of the New Testament was written by Jews, in fact, the book of Hebrews is in the New Testament which cleary shows that He was the fulfillment of the Jewish sacrificial system having provided eternal redemption for His people by His one sacrifice and offering (unlike the perpetual offerings of the Old Testament priests).
So yes, one must come through Christ to worship God.

You can know about God without knowing Jesus, but I don't think you can really know Him without knowing his Son.

Yes, there are people who say they believe in God, but don't believe that Jesus is God. But there's no point in believing if you don't believe in Jesus because He's the only way to heaven.

No you cannot know God without knowing Jesus.

This is why:

The New testement in the book of John states.

(1:1-3) In the beginning was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. (TNIV)

Still don't believe.....

Read Genesis Chapter 1 verse 26:

"Then God said, "Let us make man in OUR image, in our LIKENESS..."

You can know some things about God but you can't know Him as your Heavenly Father apart from Jesus.

Matthew 11:27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
