Is it possible to loose fat through diet and exercise if your overall calorie load is low, but some of those calories come from booze? I don't mean alcoholic drinking... I mean one or two.

To be more clear: I am wondering if the calories that come from alcohol are any more damaging than the ones that come from, let's say, junk food.

I've always wondered the same thing.
I used to work with a young lady who lost over 100 pounds just by kicking her drinking habit. (Granted, she drank like a fish).
As of recent, I was quite a heavy drinker myself and decided I'd give it up to see what happens. Nothing happened. My weight came off with exercise.

To answer your question, though, I do know that alcohol has a LOT of empty calories. I think junk food has empty calories AND fat...that's what sets them apart. I'm not encouraging you to drink, but I don't think it's as damaging as junk food.
Cheers.

I am not sure of your question.

Weight loss is due to food selection and excercise of course. Many empty calories are in alcohol as most alcoholic beverages contain high amounts of sugar.

During a weight loss regime, little or no alcohol is recommended.

Is this sufficient?

Stay away from the booze--not good for you and will defete the purpose of exercising and trying to lose weight especially if you are drinking the one or two on a regular basis!

I sure hope you don't mean one or two drinks every day as this is certainly alcohol abuse. I am not sure why you want to drink if you are trying to lose weight. Most alcohol has carbs and sugars etc which is often what you are avoiding when dieting.

Booze contains a lot of sugar, which equals high calories.
