I don't believe Morels are commercially sold. Most people that have a place to find them guard their patch jealously. You can buy morels in areas where they are hunted annually like a morel festival. There is a specific place that sells them during this " festival" but I'm sorry I can't remember the place. Morels are already up in the southern climes and about every two weeks the migrant shroom pickers will move north. At this time, southern and middle Illinois probably has morels up.

I would type into your search bar " Morels for Sale" or " Morel Hunter" There isn't a much better mushroom out there. As far as I know they do not know how to commercially grown them either.

My local Whole Foods Market occasionally carries fresh morels. The price will vary from $30 to $40 per pound.

Don't be too put off by the price. You can get enough for a couple of nice servings for about $10.

Buy them if you can. They're the best!
