I would want to attend one that teaches the same doctrines that Christ taught when he was upon the earth. I would also look for one that would be organized in the same way Christ's church was organized. I would also want one that has the same authority Christ had, the same priesthood authority.

1. One that Believe in the Complete Authority of Holy Scripture! Matthew 4:4 & Luke 4:4
2. One that Does Not play 7-11 Songs [Seven Words 11 Times or 11 Words 7 Times.]
3. One that DOES NOT HAVE A TIME LIMIT! In the third world countries Church Services often last 4-6-or More Hours!
4. One that Welcomes All in any manner of Clothing! See James 2.
5. ONE that DOES NOT have an Offering PLATE PASSED, but Does have TWO LOCKED DROP BOXES, so that we can drop our offering, without The Show! Matthew 6.
6. ONE that IS NOT IN DEBT! Many Churches are men pleasers, BECAUSE they have to Make the MORTGAGE PAYMENT!
7. One that has additional Sunday School TEACHING where new converts can be disciplied.
IT that enough? I could go on for hours!

I would really make sure that the Pastor teaches faithfully from God's word. It's extremely important that the foundation of any church be based upon the truth of God's Word alone. The Pastor should be preaching the full counsel of God which means that he needs to talk as much about hell and damnation as well as God's love and salvation. The church must believe in Jesus Christ, believe that He is God and believe in His death and resurrection.
Also as Hank Hanegraff states a church should have the three P's in place "Prayer, Praise, and Proclamation of the word of God".
I'm not into contemporary mega church pop psychology. Nor am I into the signs and wonders movement and the prosperity gospel preaching.

A church that makes all welcome, without regard to dress or appearance. A church that is very warm and friendly to children. I have been invited to a pentecostal church, and have been considering visiting, because I like the idea of a church where people can express themselves in the Spirit. The churches I have been in in the past were all of the "sit absolutely still, don't fidget, don't sneeze, and don't dare fall asleep" variety. Solemnity is fine, but I would like to go to a church where the worshipers can be a little spontaneous (without being disruptive, of course).

Hailing from Ontario, Canada. Dad was a minister in U.S. til I was 8. My idea of a good church includes good music, a life-based sermon/homily, children's program, NO VISUAL PRAISING, a coffee time afterwards to get to know people, and a lively community presence.

I want a church who stands on the Bible. Who are honest and upfront about all things. The old music with the new music. One that is loving, and don't push no one away. One that is fun by God and not man.

I attend Mass every Sunday, celebrate Palm Sunday and feel sorrowful on Good Friday when Jesus died. Easter Sunday celebrates Jeus rising from the dead

Not extreme. Not worldly. Not "tolerant" and "accepting" of social trends and perverse lifestyles and those who live them. And above all, one whose mission is to beloved fellow believers, The Word of God in its entirety and within its context, and NO RELIGIOUS ARTIFACTS OR SYMBOLISMS WHICH MEANS THE CHURCH IS AN UNCORRUPTED ALTAR WITHOUT BENEFIT OF MAN'S LIFTING HIS HAND UPON IT TO ADORN IT WITH HIS FUTILE AND IDOLIC IMAGINATIONS AND IMAGERY. Other than that, nothing.

any church that is spiritually alive, with prayer that is spontaneous and singing praises to the Lord. I believe that pentacost still happens so I am predisposed to very happy evangelical churches.
