I've searched high and low and even tried to go through the individual manufactuers to get a FWD with a manual transmission and it seems to be impossible. I can't be the only one to prefer a manual to an auto so why do all of the manufactures refuse to offer the option?

Don't know why you are having a problem. I just bought a dodge ram3500. 4wd with 6 speed manual.
By manual, you do mean a stick, right? Not manual, going into 4wd by locking the hubs instead of the switch in the truck. That might me a lot harder to come by

You must be kidding, every 4WD maker make them in stick shift. Go find a REAL truck dealer.
