Yes you could. Although you mention the 4 seat Cessna's, there are larger variants. There is actually an airline called Cape Air that flys Cessna 414's (I think that is the correct model). They fly out of Boston in the northeast. You might remember the TV show "Wings." The opening scene of the twin engine plane landing was of a cape air Cessna.

You'll need an FAA Part 135 Air Taxi certificate which will require an operational specification manual to the FAA for approval. The process can take anywhere from 6 to 18 months. There are a lot of Air Taxi operators in the U.S. and stiff competition. Here is a list of the private jet operators: http://www.legfind.com/SiteMap.aspx?SiteMap=Operators
Good luck with the business plan!

A lot easier said than done. Try leasing the Cessna's to a flight school. That would be a little easier. FAA is pretty tough to work with. This way the flight school should take care of everything, and you might make some money.

Why not get your commercial license and fly people yourself... I doubt the demand will be high enough to pay 4 pilots a decent wage... still not much but its gotta be reasonable... To do that you would need non-stop, always having at least 2 planes in the air... I like the idea but if you do it yourself with one plane you could make just as much... If you fly it more than it is demanded you will wind up will losses due to fuel...

I live and operate a similar service in Australia, recently I was invited to the airshow in Melbourne. Check out the Pilatus PC-12 prop range. Ecologically and efficiently peerless, fuel sippers! powerful effects on the bottom line in any business! Make sure you look after the new babies! Goodluck.

If your question is "will it be profitable?" That is a decion you will have to make. Legally as long as your pilots have the proper cert.'s you have no problem. sounds like a fun job. contact me when you are hiring pilots.

sure you have to work tight knit with the FAA to make sure everything is certified, but you really have a good idea there. Keep at it and you could have quite a buisness.
