i dont have a photoshop software and ive used the application "paint" which doesn't work on the pictuer. the printer i have wont print pictures out in only black and white (unless i guess i tear out the color cartridge) what do i do

Upload it to Yahoo Photos, there under edit photo you can find an effect that turns the photo into grey.

I can think of two options. The easiest is to let a photo lab do it for you. Take your digital file to anywhere that prints photos. Most have little kiosks (i.e. Target, Walmart, etc) where you take your disk or camera's memory card and the kiosk will have that option to convert it. You can also do that for online photo labs like Snapfish, Kodak, etc.

The other option is that your printer might have a b/w option if you look at the printer settings when you print. Probably not the best option though.

You can insert it into a Word Document. In the Picture Tool Bar there's an option to change it into Grayscale.

You can also choose under the Properties of your printer to print something in Grayscale so that you don't always print in Color.

If you select print and then click the properties button there should be an option for "grayscale" printing, that will print in essentially black and white. (Using Windows)
