i think it sucks because of the fact that the officer they interviewed about it said that it doesn't reflect the values of this country. as if you don't have good morals and values if you have large or visible tattoos. they are our countries protectors and i believe they should be able to have tattoos as they see fit as long as they aren't offensive.

As much as i love tats i guess i could agree with this. The Marine Corps is about being a team, and being one all being equal and the same. Displaying these tattoos shows too much individuality. It's not good to look down on the parade deck and see your senior d.i. with a huge sleeve. Brings down the prestige of the Marine Corps.

The statement that was made that tattoos do not reflect this countries morals and standards blah blah blah is a pile of excrement.

Your going to tell someone that is being shot at that thier values are not good enough? That they are not moral?

Freaking crazy.

I was so shocked by this announcement. You're telling me that someone out there was actually spending time thinking about tattoos and not the safety of our troops during a freaking war? Ridiculous!!

As much as I love a man with sleeves and neck tattoos, I fully support the marines on this one. No eccentricities in dress or appearance are permitted because they detract from uniformity and team identity.

I think they have no right to say that they can't have them wherever they want. They should let them do what they want on there own time.

What is it? What ever it is it doesn't matter; if you're in the service, you do as you're told.
