I really want to do it tonigh though. How much would it cost to dye my hair at a salon? All the salons around here charge like $13 for a bad cut. I don't know if I can trust them to dye my hair. If it turns out bad I'm dying my hair back to brown. I only have until next monday to dye my hair twice. I would really like to decide if I like the blond before I go back to school.

As a hairstylist I urge you to go to your salon for this. I see people weekly that have tried this at home with the drug store brand of hairdye and their hair is ORANGE!! the drug store brand does not have a developer strong enough in it to make your hair blond I promise you it will turn out orange. You need to go to a professional who has a 30 to 40 volume developer and a professional bleach and if it is too blond for you they can always use a toner on you.

If you want to dye your hair blonde or platinum from brown, you will need a "high-lift" color. The best way is, of course, to get it done professionally. However, if this is not possible, you can buy some hair dye at the store, but you have to make sure that it is a high-lift color. You want to choose something like a extra-light natural blonde. Unless you know if your hair has red or yellow undertones, stay away from the colors that have "copper" or "ash" in them. using a color that has the word ash in it on hair that has yellow undertones will turn your hair greenish. Check first. As I said, it is best to go to a salon for the first time you do this.

This can be tricky it depends on how dark your hair is now and if you have any color on it now if your hair is not to dark you can get it using a hi lift color if it is to dark you will have to use bleach.

You cannot just pile bleach on your head and expect it to be blond my best suggestion is if you want blond hair all over you really need to see a hairdresser or you will probably make a mess. Let me just warn you the next color after your hair turns white is melt. Yes your hair can and will melt if you leave the bleach on to long good luck.

I reccomend having a professional hairdresser do it. If your hair is really dark and you use an at home kit it could turn orange!
