We are a living soul, we don't have a soul that is something separate from our bodies. The Bible says this about what happens when we die...
Ecclesiastes 9: 5 & 10: "(Ecclesiastes 9:5-10) “5Â For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.
10Â All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She′ol, the place to which you are going.”
Ecclesiastes 3:19 & 20: "For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. 20Â All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust. "
Genesis 2:7: "And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul."
Genesis 1:20: "And God went on to say: “Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls and let flying creatures fly over the earth upon the face of the expanse of the heavens"
So when we die, we cease to exist, except in God's memory...
John 5; 28 & 29a: "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29Â and come out,"
Acts 24:15: "and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."

Besides all the medical reports of seeing the white light at near death experiences, try this for effect. When you're lying down in bed, prepare yourself for death by acknowledging that you are dying and start to breathe slower and slower until you stop breathing altogether. Either of two things will happen. You will see the white light and go forward to the light, in which you will then comprehend that you have passed this life or you will suddenly gasp for air and awaken. Meaning your soul will not let you stop living yet. Had it been your conscious mind, you'd be feeding worms by now.

I've been clinically dead. I had hypothermia, and my body core temp. was 72 degrees. My heart beat 1 time in a minute. And I had no blood pressure. I saw no bright lights, nor did I go to Hell. Everything was black. Just like before you are born. There was nothing. But believe want you want.

You cannot know. It is only wishful thinking. And living forever like a god is quite a compelling reason to believe without proof.

There is no "Soul". People can claim that it can't be proved that it isn't true, but one cannot prove that trolls exist so we should believe anyway?
I don't think so.

Since there is no verifiable evidence of anyone ever coming back with that information, you'll just have to wait and see.
