This will be arguable forever because it depends on your root assumptions about this life.

Physicalists will always say the mind is a chemical reaction within the brain. It does not really exist.

Spiritualists will always say that mind is primary and physical is a relative illusion. They see a larger reality than the physical universe.

Physicalists are so seeped in the illusion that they try to interpret eternity with temporal logical ideas. What they have forgotten is that they chose this universe to create and express their deeper realities. When you put blinders on, you get an awesome creative experience you can not get otherwise in the realm of the non-physical where there is no time or relative contrast.

Spiritualists know this non-physical reality and blend it with physical for a tremendously satisfying life.

It's easy to twist words. If our language were structured differently this type of question would be utter nonsense, as told by the Whorf-Sapir Hypothesis.

Perhaps nothing is "in" anything else, but maybe they are, and always have been, "one" with each other. It is only our culture that allows us to view the mind and body as seperate. There are many cultures that see this as crazy, and there is no evidence to say they are wrong... in fact, studying brain states and how stimulating different parts of the brain affects our perception and reactions, we can see that the "mind" is not seperate at all, but influenced entirely by electrical and chemical signals in the brain.
Those are the facts, now where are yours?

our bodies exists in our minds as a function of the thought proccess. i have read a good book recently which will effectively answer and possibly enlighten you. "The Power of Now" The thrust of the book is that we are not our minds!. The mind can be used as a tool. But we have let the mind run us and form the ego which we beleive to be who we our. It could change your life if you choose to absorb and not judge- your mind will be openned.

I used to ask this sort of question when I was tripping, like discussing how cool it was that bear was spelled "b-e-a-r"

I never really discovered any profound truths this way.
Except for 'No profound truth could be discovered this way.'
