actually it doesnt matter what time of the day you eat as long as you dont go over your calorie intake.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats, take 300-400 calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
5-8servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water a day
5-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones (breakfast is the most important - make sure to get complex carbs like whole wheat bread, oatmeal, fruit etc)
4-6 times a week cardio for 30-50min, light weight training, many reps
no junk food, no sodas, no alcohol, no white flour (cakes, cookies, white bread, pasta etc.), nothing high in sugar (ice cream)

Explain this to your dad. Tell him you know it's unhealthy to eat late and you're not comfortable doing it. Ask him if you can eat now and just sit with everyone else at dinner.
BUT- you shouldnt be that worried about it. It's unhealthy to go that crazy over things. That is a sign of anorexia and perhaps you should talk to a couselor or someone.
You're totally right. It is unhealthy to eat late but eating at 4:00 is too early. And one night eating late isnt bad. You should be conscience but being obsessive about it is unhealthy.
ALso you could wait a half hour after you eat dinner and do some sit ups. or Yoga or something.

Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth...
It is not that big a deal- the whole idea about not eating after 7 is to not eat within 2 hours of the time you go to bed... so if you eat a little later, you can compensate by allowing a little more time before you sleep.
Maybe think of it that way- that you want to wait at least 2 hours after your last meal before sleeping.

Contrary to many diet beliefs, you do not gain any more or any less weight by eating after 8 p.m. Now, if you went and ate a large pizza at 10 and then went to bed, it might be worth being concerned. But if you're eating a sensible meal at 7:30 or 8, it won't upset your weight.

It's fine. You will be okay. Breath deeply. You may be feeling a little irrational because you're hungry.
