why wont the US use pure sugar in their soda i.e.: coka-cola??? instead they use high fructose corn syrup!!! i would imagine that the syrup would be less healthy than regular sugar...

Because high fructose corn syrup is A LOT cheaper than cane sugar...and more readily available.

It's all about the money, honey. What is cheaper is what gets used. Plus, I imagine, that the syrup is better suited for being put into a liquid. So money and time.
Plus they are using U.S. corn, so score one for the farmers.
