Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin(s) - not sure if it is sins or sin, but that's beside the point - of the world.
This basically means that due to Christ's suffering, death and resurrection, we actually have a chance of getting into heaven because Jesus paid the penalty of sin for us.
Whereas before, we were surely damned to hell.
