If you haven't got a licence you will need to be a named driver on someone elses insurance until you pass your test. If youve got someone who will let you on their insurance try this site http://www.moneysupermarket.com/motor/ to find a quote. Remember that adding a driver could increase the other persons insurance, especially as you don't have a licence so make sure you can afford it by checking the quotes first. The price will come down once you get a licence

If you are in the UK you need to insure the vehicle unless it is classed as "off Road" and unused. Get Third Party, Fire and Theft from most Insurance companies as this covers anything that happens to the vehicle that isn't your fault. You can change it once you past the driving test.

it dont matter if someone else put you on there insurance as a additional driver you would still be braking the law and the insurance would be void

and also your friend would be open to criminal charges and they would nullify there own insurance

as the law stands no licence you cant drive so just get one

ignore answer 1 as its illegal

Get a drivers license first. I don't know of an insurance company that will cover you without one. Best of luck

Take driver lessons. Use their car (and insurance) for your road test. Then when you have your licence you can purchase insurance (at a discount, because you took lessons) Then you can drive your car.

why don't you wait til you get your license. you will create more problems insuring your things in others name. if they wreak your vehicle you will be out and subject to be sued. and you will be tempted to drive it since it's registed and get in fender bender and lose all chances of obtaining your own driver lic.
