30 years ago, while on vacation, we had a nice, strong cup of coffee in Europe which was robust, but not bitter. Today, in the US, all we can find is bitter coffee. I yearn for a great cup of strong coffee without the bitterness that today's coffee has. Was it the quality of the coffee or the brewing style?

I do not know if it the brewing or the coffee. I do know that if you add a pinch of salt in with your coffee before brewing it takes the bitterness down some.

what you can try is to put the shell of an egg in the water, this makes it less bitter.

also very important when you coffeebeans tast bitter if the powder became to warm during grinding. If you grind them yourself do it manually then they cant get warm, that is not with an electrical device
