at my church tomorrow the will be the sacrament of penance from 3 to 9 at night. I am only 13 and my parents are working. they say i should go. in the past year i havent done anything awful but the usual talk back to parents and curse. I pray every night to God for him to forgive my sins, ansd i am truly sorry. I think this thing at my church is for older people..should i go and talk to the priest quick or just keep talking to Godm in private. I dont no im nervous to go, should I "waste the priests time? should i go

Hi, look I only tell you this for your own good and no other reason okay, being dis-respectful to your Parents is a serious sin, you must know that we have to `Honor our Father and our Mother` so you really need to go to confession for this alone,as for cursing and I believe that you really mean swearing, this is not serious at all,cursing in the scriptural sense is when you wish evil or harm on another or damn them to Hell for example, as a Catholic I am obliged to attend to confession whenever I have commited serious sin and just saying sorry to God is for us not the full act of repentance needed, we must receive absolution from the church that has the power and command by Christ to forgive sins, in short go along to the sacrament because it is the right thing to do.

Greg, you are not "wasting your priest's time". Your priests are there to serve the congregation's needs. Please go and speak with him. Tell him how you feel about having committed only minor offences during the year and see what he advises you to do. I'll be he'll tell you to keep talking to God, no matter what else he says! But do go and speak with him. It's nice to begin a relationship with the pastor or priest of your church while you are young.

I'm 14 and I want to be a priest. DO you disobey any of the 10 Commandments? Yes you do. Do you lie, argue, show violence or anger? Yes you do. I suggest you go to Confession. Also, I bet you Gossip.
