Anti spanker's are borderline crack pots, usually they clam to poses a "degree in early childhood education" and worked with child ya, right, I can also clam to be Opera, are you going to believe that?) . If it is true, great so there a daycare worker, with a degree. Any fool can pass a written test to earn a degree (I am proof of that, lol), and I don't know about you, but I can trust the average day care worker about as far as I can throw them. Besides, when I was in collage, you had about 5 or so people who actually wanted, and felt the calling to be there. Parenting is not a collage subject, not a book subject "

"Pulling down underpants, is the best possible way do deliver a spanking. It will produce the best results. I don't buy into the argument, that it's humiliating, or some sort of sexual assault. IT'S JUST A SPANKING, the way they ought to be. A child gets humiliated by enforcing ANY consequence, why? Because their little egos just took a hit"

She also claims that all people with degrees or pediatricians raise horrible children.

I personally have quite a few run-in's with her on here, so I guess my opinion of this woman is a bit biased.

I think she is one of those women who think their shi* don't stink and anyone who chooses to parent differently than her, is wrong and beneath her. She is extremely judgemental and insults anyone who doesn't agree with her type of parenting. I have been put down by her for being a working mom and also for not always knowing how to handle my step-kids. Come to find out, she is a stay-at-home mom and isn't a step-parent, therefore shouldn't be insulting and judging someone else unless she has been or is in their situation.

Considering that she is a stay-at-home mom, she spends way too much time on Yahoo Answers and not enough with her kids and husband. The only reason that she has made it to the top on the parenting section is because she answers questions that back up her beliefs on spanking. If I only answered questions where I knew that I was of the same opinion of the asker, then I could make it to the top answer too. Anyone who brags about spanking their kids on their bare butts, needs some severe parenting help. That has nothing to do with being "old school", that is degrading and borderline abuse, especially when you constantly brag about it. It comes across as her getting some enjoyment out of it, whether sexual or power, only she knows that, but either way no sane parent brags about spanking their kids on the bare butt.

She needs to understand that there are thousands of different ways of parenting. Parenting is a live and learn process and instead of insulting and acting better than other moms, she should simply try to give good sound advice and be helpful. She is NOT the supermom she thinks she is.

Personally, I found 1 week's experience of actually being a parent was worth any amount of books.

That's horrible! I have an actual college degree in Biology and 20+ years of experience with children in child care and with kids with disabilities. There are a lot of ways to teach without humiliation. Discipline is from the Latin "to teach" not "to humiliate", "to punish", or "to hurt". I'm pretty sure that she has the top answerer just for the most answers and maybe the most Best Answers, just because Yahoo's automated system says she knows her stuff doesn't mean she does. Her poor children.

I think uneducated plus old-fashion-school "trained" are the things we look for when we ask questions

She is uneducated as evidenced by her spelling and grammar. She needs more education and she should be spending more time with her children instead of answers.

I've always believed that punishment is to teach a child, not to hurt them. Why does she want to hurt her kids? When my son gets upset about punishment I feel aweful and it kills me to stick to it. I know I have to because I need to teach him. If I swat his bottom I make sure it's on his diaper and pants, and it's only for a serious situation. I don't try to hurt him. That just doesn't make any sense to me.

She sounds like my worst nightmare. People shouldn't be giving advise like that these days. In England you can go to prison for giving your kid a tap on the butt!

Well whoever wrote this can't spell college, so I don't have a lot of faith in whatever education they claim to have.
