my transfer case shifter got stuck on neutral while the engine was running and I attempted to go on "P" . There were some loud noises every time i did that . Now, should I be worried about the transmission if that happened a few times.

I wouldnt make a habit of it . but no probrobly not. next time you have trans in nutraul and shift transfer case and it gets stuck let the jeep roll just a bit. this normally works. if not and you fell compelled to put it in park please shut off engine first or youll eventualy break it. thats why when you take it out of 4wd you should try to find some sort of grade to do it on.

The transfer case being stuck in neutral is always easily remedied by placing the transmission in neutral before attempting to place the transfer case back into gear. As far as damage, unless you were forcing the lever or continuously attempted changing the position of the transfer case more than a couple times there wasn't any damage done.

Anytime your vehicle makes noises it shouldn't, and you keep making it make noises it shouldn't, you can bet the $2500 it might take to make the repair, that you've messed something up.

Get you vehicle to a mechanic and get your problems diagnosed before you do further damage. In the future, if it won't go into park while the engine is running, turn the engine off and move it to park.

Na,it should be ok. All 4 wheel drives will make some clunking and banging at some point. They are made for heavy abuse,so a couple time shouldnt hurt it.
