Without knowing what DOS command you are trying to use, go to Start > Run and type cmd and click OK.

The black window that appears looks and works a little like MS-DOS, but with far fewer commands.

Try basic DOS commands like cls, dir, copy, etc., they should work fine. Don't try fdisk, format C:, etc. or any other DOS command that alters the Windows file structure. They may not work or cause huge damage to your PC.
