I agree.. in looking at the behavior of apes and gorillas, one would absolutely have to agree that they are much more civilized than we are.
They should be ashamed of us.

That's a great question. Is there any evidence to prove our great grandfather was king kong? Where are all the intermediate levels? How come we have an ape (supposedly first) and modern man (supposedly last) and nothing in between? Doesn't seem too logical to me. People believe that because they are brainwashed into believing that because it is taught to them as fact when they start school. If our educational system was "open" as it claims to be, and if evolution is as factual as it claims to be, then why do they outlaw any other views from competing with their precious natural selection? The fact is that it is pure theory that was evolved in the vain attempt to escape from being accountable to a sovereign God who actually did something for sinful humanity by providing a Savior who actually saves people from the guilt of their sins. That system tries to tell us that this happened over millions and millions of years. How convenient. They know no one can actually figure it out on their own so they tell us to "trust the secular scientists." After all, if they believe it, it must be true. Science can tell us some things, but not everything. It cannot tell us the origin of things. It can only tell us observable things not how what is observable got there in the first place. Christian believe "in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" and that God created man in His own image giving us intellect, emotion and will. Is that so far out? unreasonable? untenable? illogical? "a leap into the abyss?" Is the belief that we are a hunk of primordial slime evolved to a higher order logical and reasonable? Has anyone seen this process? Has anyone observed all these changes taking place? When was the last time man begat non man, alligators begat non alligators, apes begat non apes? As the local zoo if the last penguin they brought in was the product of bear. Please, look to Christ. He is the loving Savior who died in the place of sinners. Will you trust in Him for eternal life?

lol great question, i think that if primates had the intellect to understand this question they would agree that its insulting to think that we came from them.

that being said, we were all created by the same God, Jehovah. So I would say that we share the gift of creation, not necessarily that we share the same physically created parents.

Christians believe that God was telling the truth when He said that He made man in HIS image, and made man to have dominion over creation. So to say that Christians are descendants of the ape is to say God is a liar. Saying God is a liar to someone who loves Him is like saying something insulting to someone you personally love....is that hard?

Cause they don't like primates.

I don't know any Christians, but if you're talking about church people, I've asked them about this question, and the general impression I get it that they disapprove of a lot ot the lower primates.

Not insulting. Frightening. Darwin proved that 1) we don't need the all-purpose "goddidit" explanation for where everything came from, and 2) we're perfectly capable of figuring things out for ourselves. That's a truly mind-expanding concept, and genuinely scary if you've been taught to rely on something much simpler.

That's my guess.

It's a symptom of the anthropocentricism that Christianity seems to revolve around.

Good point.

But they see themselves as "special" and they wouldn't be so special if they evolved from ancient primates rather than being created by God himself.

If I was a primate, it would bother me that I could have been like that..
