We are about to "name our own price" for 2 round-trip tickets to Kauai on July 8-22 for our honeymoon... :) We are on a tight budget, so we need the cheapest tickets we can find.

I'm a little nervous about Priceline's "naming your own price" deal because we won't know until our offer is accepted and our flight is confirmed which airline we will be flying, what time we will depart and return, or if we will even get to sit together on the plane. I don't know if I want someone else to decide all of that for us, but since that's the only way to get cheap tickets, I guess that's what we'll have to do.

Do you have any experience with Priceline? If so, what was your experience? Is it worth it? Saving the money seems to be worth it, but I want to be confident going in that everything will be okay. Maybe I'm worrying for nothing??

Thank you!

While you MAY save some money (and it's a big may because periodically you can just wait a few days and get confirmed flights on another airline for about the same price) Priceline reserves the right to put you on any flight they like with as many connections as is needed and you may not land until the next day which would waste a hotel day as well. For a honeymoon I wouldn't do it unless I absolutely had to.

What you described with priceline is exactly what happens. You won't know your flight's time, or if you'll have to leave the reception early to make it. You might not sit by your fiance, either. I would never do priceline for a honeymoon. The details of the trip are just too important. I'm sure you can find a number more affordable locations than Hawaii for your honeymoon, if cost is that big of a deal. Being together is so much more important than where you go.

First off if you save a few bucks which is the only way to get to your honeymoon destination then not sitting together for a couple of hours shouldnt be a big deal. I used priceline once didnt get to sit next to my now husband {no big deal he slept most the way anyhow} however our flight did leave at 430 in the morning we lived an hour away and had to be there an hour prior to take off. Depending what time your plane takes off when you arrive at your destination you need to make sure transportation will be available for you. There are also other online travel sites you can check out such as travelocity where you can pick your departure time and airline. Also Orbitz, or better yet try this link and it gives you several sites to chose from and compair its how I fly http://quicksearch.shermanstravel.com/1/flights_results.php

Also you might could fly into Oahu instead of directly into Kauai and get tickets to fly into kauai for like 30 bucks could save you some money

I have used Priceline for hotels and it is amazing.
I do not know about using them for flights. I guess if you do not mind leaving at unknown time, on unknown airline, in unknown seats, then give it a try. Also look at www.kayak.com to see what is cheapest flight.
You could also try to see if there is some sort of airline special going on to Oahu. Once there, you can get plane tickets to Kauai for $29.

I've used priceline before for hotels, but not for flights. (Not that I wouldn't, I just haven't.)

I'd say go for it, but put in for the day after your wedding. Don't plan to leave from the reception to the airport, since the schedule probably won't work out that precisely.
