There are over 8,000 gods whose non-existence cannot be proved. Now what would make them angrier; you lavishing your attention on another god, or you just not paying them any attention? Wouldn’t they be like a jealous ex boyfriend or girlfriend, they’d rather you were sad and lonely than happy in the arms of another. I’m basing this on the fact that I’ve heard that some gods are jealous gods. So isn't atheism the safest option?

It’s too early for tequila; I’ll just have a beer, thanks.

This is given that Gods have the same mannerisms, emotions, and reasoning that humans do. I think if they are Gods, they would truly be Gods, and not half-god half-human.

That is not really an alternative to Pascal's Wager either. Sure, if Gods are jealous then it would be better to just not get involved in the God Drama (as opposed to the Human Drama), yet there is also no proof of this at all. The wager attempts to persuade others into believing in God. You simply presented a what-if statement.

Some people seem to think that the one God gets jealous, never ind the many!

It is a good question.

In human terms, it isn't a quality is it. We judge a persons maturity on it sometimes too. Hmmmmm.

I do believe that there are many forms of life and layers of existence that we do not yet know or understand.

Gods...I don't know.

The all inclusive devine works for me. I am not a fence sitter, I just realise I don't have all the answers. So Theo, since you are that way inclined, I suggest that you go with the Athiest approach and just pay your respects to the universe every now and then!

Then keep one eye open just in case.

Peace.

Indian Mythologies (hindu etc.) hold that all Gods are an emination of the one true reality Brahman. there are over 3 million Gods alone in India with each village usualy having its own. However The Gods are seen as expressions, or personifications of the one truth Brahman. so in essence they are ways of looking at and personalising the Divine. It makes it easier for people to connect with them.

Apparently they dont get jelious of each other, because they are all part of the same thing anyway. I know this idea holds true in western neo-paganism as well.

Its impossible to prove or disprove the existence of Spiritual beings, so im not even going to argur that point.

Well you can carry on it your dream if you want, but there is only ONE God, God does not get jealous, that is left to stupid humans, and why do so many so called atheist spend time on a religious site, talking about something they don;t believe in, or so they say, or are they really looking for answers, because i don't waste my time talking about something i have no interest in, on something i no nothing about

The wording is a bit awkward. Keep refining it though, you're on a good tact.

Personally, my viewpoint is that I have to be as honest with myself as I can. To pretend to believe in something supernatural or divine would be a lie.

And any god worthy of his throne wouldn't want worship based on that.

It's not really an alternative, but it is a reasonably good riposte to the Wager, which is badly flawed, and does a good job of pointing out how. Well done.
