I'm not a big fan of the COT either, but with all the money NASCAR and the teams have spent in development. I don't see it leaving anytime soon. The weaker drivers still won't be able to hang with strong ones, that won't change.

Personally I dont like it as I hate that front splitter and that rear wing, it personally looks like something you would find in an F1 race. I also think that they could of jsut made the same modifications to the older car that thye ahve bene using for a really long time. Also, I think this way the car makes everyone a little more equal but the cars who do really well will dominate the first few races. For instance Hendrick has done really well wiht the cars and I think they will have a tremendous advantage at the races and it will show which drivers are great drivesr and which drivers have some improvement to do. The better driver can adapt to anything very quickly but a great driver can do anything wiht a great car even from the back but the best driver might not be able to do anything if they don't have a great racecar. Tony Stewart said something similar to that during a pre race comment. I think that in time it might prove for better racing. For instance today, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson battling. Great racing by both, and I respect Jeff for not spinning out a teammate but doing eveything humanly possible to get the win and he deserved that after finished 2nd all these races so my question is when is he going to get a break? Johnson is going to have 30 bonus points if he makes the chase but I think Jeff has a right to be disappointed and I think that Jimmie should of gave him the bottom. I think that finish was great and that makes some great racing..

It's only been on short tracks so far, but I do hate it less. It's still not a very pretty car to look at. I hate all the restrictions Nascar has on building it. Too many rules! Whatever happens, it's here to stay, so I'm going to have to get used to it. Might as well go ahead and run it full time next year. It will be interesting to see how things shake out at places like Atlanta or Michigan. The death of Nascar will be from all those empty seats in the stands. Martinsville has got to be a great place to watch a race, but many of the seats were empty even before the rain. I don't understand that.

If you look at how racing has evolved over the years (NASCAR) it is only fitting that of course everything changes. The drivers will have to get the car figured out, and yes it might separate the men from the boys. driving the car they say is more difficult. Back in the early days they didn't worry so much about aero, but had to manhandle the car looks like some guys might have to learn how. If you look at these cars on the showroom floor they all look pretty much alike, I for one used to be able to tell from a distance a Pontiac from a Chevy or a Dodge from a Ford . I think we just need to get used to it . I think the racing will be awesome as it has always been.

No, I believe that as the drivers get more used to the car that the complaints will go away. I personally like the COT except for looking at it dead on. My main concern with the COT was that the cars were going to be so much alike you weren't going to be able to tell the difference in manufacturer... but that is not the case at all. The grills are much different and you can tell easily.
I think that if NASCAR goes down, it's going to be because as another poster said, NASCAR seems to be turning its attention away from the people who made the sport big. Its roots are in the SouthEast. I'm all for tracks being strung across America, but with so many tracks available in the SE that aren't being used..... you get my point? Having fans in Canada and Mexico is nice, but don't spit on the people who got you here in the first place!

I think the car of tomorrow will actually help NASCAR for a while. It is a throw back to the older boxier style of cars. It is going to take some getting used to but it will be successful.
I do think that NASCAR's death will be caused by NASCAR. They will implode like Indy and F1 did with high prices and unfair advantages. Making teams with money happy while making it hard on those teams coming up.

I hate to tell all of you this but nascar is aready losing fans. Tv ratings have been going down the past 2 years there selling less tickets at tracks but let the busch and truck seris tv ratings are going up and there selling more and more tickets but let nascar cant figure out why rating for the cup seris are on the down fall. WAKE UP NASCAR listen to your fans and even your own drivers.

I agree w/ Candy B - lets remember Dale Sr. - COT is to be safer for drivers - I agree -hate the new look but sure that will change too . I like the idea of extra protection in the doors for the guys though and think it is necessary .
GO DALE JR ...#8 Excellent race today .......
(even coming in 5th - we'll take it .) Boogity boogity boogity..

i watch NASCAR but it is not racing anymore. when NASCAR was first introduced it was the fastest car wins. not the fastest team. what they should do it break down the teams to either one or two people. and with the car of tommorow i think its stupid. its is not racing if the cars are "equal". its luck to win then.
