find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats, take 300-400 calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
5-8servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water a day
5-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones (breakfast is the most important - make sure to get complex carbs like whole wheat bread, oatmeal, fruit etc)
4-6 times a week cardio for 30-50min, light weight training, many reps
no junk food, no sodas, no alcohol, no white flour (cakes, cookies, white bread, pasta etc.), nothing high in sugar (ice cream)

There is only one way to lose weight for the long term, consistently consume fewer calories than you burn and over time, you will lose weight. See a nutritionist for guidance on what you are currently eating. You may already be doing much for a healthier diet. In general, avoid fats, fried foods of any kind, and refined sugars, and then lean toward more veggies and less animal protiens. In conjunction with a healthier, leaner diet, increase the amount of exercise. Again a professional like a trainer can help you on this so you know more about what level of exercise you should aim for. Just cutting calories may not be enough to actually lose weight depending on your basic metabolism and current amount of activity. It does not have to be hard, and it is not true that there is no gain without pain. Exercise does NOT have to hurt to be good for you. People who endlessly repeat "no pain, no gain" to anyone who will listen are gluttons for punishment and obvioulsy masochists.

Well it depends if you are male or female. Also depends on your age. However the average calorie intake of a male is 2200 and the average calorie intake of a female is 2000. Now if you are trying to lose weight you need to take about 500 calories off per day and exercise. You wont lose any weight without exercise. Hope this helps.

You probably want to avoid "fat" calories. Try eating more protiens, fruits and veggies. They all have less or no fat calories. Also try drinking more water during the day.
