I'd go with a Nikon. And these days, with so many people upgrading to digital cameras, you can pick up an excellent used film camera for a song! The Nikon F100 sold for over a thousand new, but now you can pick one up for just a few hundred dollars. That's the camera I recommend. You can find lots of them on ebay, or look at camera stores that take trade-ins and sell them used.

Try www.keh.com for great used camera deals. They are fair, trustworthy, and have a good return policy.
I second Terisu's F100 recommendation. (Although I'm not sure you will find one for $200, maybe.) More like $350-$400, and you will need a flash unit, the F100 does not have a built in flash. Pair the F100 with a 50mm 1.8 lens and you will have a great instrument.
