My daughter and her friends want to take a limo to Canada for her friend's 19th birthday. I was wondering if they needed any paperwork or anything to go. I've only been there once as a child, and I don't know if, in this post 9/11 world, the security has changed. Thanks!

They will each need an official photo I.D. (drivers license) and proof of citizenship (birth certificate). They may not need to show proof of citizenship to get into Canada, but most definitely will to get back in to the U.S., so best to have it.
If any of the friends is under 18, a parents permission will also be needed.
Rules for passports by land or sea take effect in Jan 2008 or later; currently passports are needed for air travel.

you DO NOT need a passport to enter by land until 01 01 2008. you do need to prove citizenship. gov't issued photo ID proves identity. birht cert. or baptismal cert. with photo ID proves citizenship enough to satisfy immigration Canada.(until jan.)

so, i wanna ask...Why in the right f*cking mind would you wanna come to Canada?! I feel soooooooo sorry for you friends~I hope they dont have too much of a horrible boring time.
But, to answer your question, just bring a note signed of your parents if you wont be with them, and bring a picture ID and normal ID....passport is perfect~
