My friend had an esophajectomy in February and is still weak and has no energy. How long after this operation does it take to return to pre-operative energy?

Esophajectomy is a very difficult surgical procedure, especially if it is done for cancer. A patient with esophajectomy has problems eating, he will have these problems all his life.
I saw a few patients with esophajectomy and the ones who had it for cancer had a pretty long recovery (at least 9 months, maybe a year).
