Not trying to rattle the cage here, but I was talking with my friend about religion and a question came to mind. Why is it that religious people have such a hard time beleiving we are intelligent monkeys yet they beleive a person can walk on water?

There is proof in documentation and witnesses that the walking on water occurred
We have yet to see any proof or hear from actual witnesses on the monkey story

First of all, we're not intelligent monkeys, we're intelligent primates. If you're going to get all happy giddy with science, at least have some ideas of what on GGE you're talking about.
Second, religious people have strong belief in the supernatural and it's tradition. Anything that they feel contradicts this is wrong. They're excuse: walking on water came first.

For me, there is no real proof we evolved from apes or intelligent monkeys. However, Jesus's walk on water was a witnessed event.

A monkey is an animal, we are Gods family, the thing about the water is just a story like Noas Ark.

The Bible said so. We are made is the image of God. Jesus walked of water. Now if your god is a monkey then by all means don't force him on me and I in turn will not force my God on you. I will tell you about Him and pray for you and you can do the same for me and we will see who is right.

Because we're not intelligent monkeys... we're humans.
Monkeys are our evolutionary cousins.
As for believing some dude walked on water... that's faith.

Seriously look at the world around you ,all the beauty ,all of this just did not happen with a big bang !

Maybe it's because we aren't intelligent monkeys....we share a common ape-like ancestor. And who says monkeys aren't intelligent? Not all religious people reject the idea of evolution.

Because us, being monkeys is unbelievable, and not logical.
A person walking on water is believable, because it's a miracle that was told to us by God, so how can we not believe the one who created us?

probably because believing we are intelligent monkeys takes more faith than believing that GOD can walk on the water he made.
