Is it safe to say that this verse says not only those that practice these things but those that except them are equally guilty?

Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Example: Fred isn't gay but he has friends that are and excepts and supports their relationships

What God says goes---

If someone approves or tolerates the practice of sinful acts which God condemns, then that person is just as guilty as the one practicing the sin.
The Bible makes it very clear.

First of all, you've used 'except' where you should use 'accept'. I'm not 100% on this, but I think bad linquistics is a sin.

Also, Romans 1 isn't a verse. Romans 1:5 is a verse, Romans 1 would be a chapter. You're a very poor listener if you don't even know the difference between a verse and chapter. Or do you just not go to a church where they read the Bible?

My apologies, but with all these mistakes, I just can't take you assertion seriously, I'll have to disagree.

I am terribly tired, dear people - so I pray that I can be coherent with this....

The answer is found later in Chapter three... Everyone is guilty.

Rom 3:10 "...as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one; " (Referring to Psalm 14, I think...)
And:
Rom 3:23-24 "...for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus"

Jesus told us to judge not - lest ye be judged... after all, we have a "beam" in our own eye to deal with.
He told the Priests that it was not the well who needed a physician, but the sick... He came to be with all of us - because we all were sinners... all sick.
How can we judge another's sin? We can only be a light to others - without participating in their rebellion.

This is the Passover/Easter season, dear ones...
Before Christ came - the priests were instructed to take a sacrificial goat, lay hands on it, confess the sins of all the people, and send it out into the wilderness - never to be seen again. Then other doves, lambs, rams, bulls... were sacrificed in blood offerings.

The point?
There was no payment great enough to cover our sins other than a TOTAL sacrifice... our sins = death.

God didn't ask that we pay that debt - His love, grace, mercy - did not require us to pay for the "crimes" against him that we committed.

HE paid the debt for us.

There is NO sin greater than the other. They are all equal. They ALL separate us from God. The "bail" is denied. The recompense is due. ...And God Himself paid the recompense Himself.

None of us deserve Mercy - but for His own sake, He forgives us and eliminates our sins when we throw ourselves on His mercy. ...And He IS merciful - far more than we deserve. Lord knows, I don't feel worthy of His forgiveness...

However:

Yesterday I was trying to prepare for today's (4-1-07) Bible Study lesson in John at church... and the guide book said, "Jesus carried a cross... what burden are you carrying?"

I wrote, "anger, guilt, but mostly shame..."

I told God how worthless I was to him (as Romans 3 quotes) and that I didn't know how to overcome shame...

I didn't tell anyone.
I didn't open my guidebook.
No one knew.

After the study, I stood talking to a lady - when I saw a flutter out of the corner of my eye... I ignored it. When we finished chatting, I looked down to close my Bible, get my purse... and on an address book page, clearly hastily torn out -- was a note in blue ink:
"Paula White says, ''GOD CALLS US BY OUR NAME, NOT OUR SHAME.''"

I froze.

I asked if the other ladies saw who left this.
No one did.
There is no member by that name on our Church Roster.

God is real dear ones.
Not one of us is clean enough to deserve His love - but He makes us clean, and calls us by our name to be truly His. We just have to answer Him...

"Before they call, I will answer, and while they are still speaking, I will hear." (says the Lord) Isaiah 65:24

Peace dear ones.

Paul is metaphorically a used car salesman who knows little, and has never had contact with what he is selling. He will say anything to get you to buy and under control. Most of those Christians I work with from time to time agree that Paul damaged the Gentle Rebe's message nearly beyond retrieval since he pandered to those who wanted control over others.

If you want the truth....ask a Pagan

Any one who thinks they deserve death, needs to get a grip. I am sorry for those rigid thinkers. This is a book written by men which has been changed throughout the ages. The words have been twisted to fit the beliefs of the transcriber.

Yeah I am not going to your heaven, thank the Lady and Lord of all for wisdom to see beyond the packs of followers. Look at you , can't even think for your self. I have more respect those who support others than those who condemn them.

Yes, yes it does. what fellowship has light with darkness?

Jesus never peached a message of acceptance or tolerance - He was not a friend to sinners, as some people claim. if you read that scripture in context, it was an accusation. Jesus had a purpose for being around sinners; and He never approved their lifestyle.

I don't care what the verse says. This verse was written by the self-appointed apostle Paul. Who the hell was Paul? Paul never even met Jesus, and supposedly had a vision on the road to Damascus. How do we know that is true? There are no witnesses other than what Paul wrote himself! There is a reason that Jesus never wrote about himself, it is self-witnessing. Giving testimony of yourself is meaningless. Why was Paul even necessary? Didn't Jesus do his job sufficiently? Follow the simple teaching of Jesus, they are not incomplete. Paul is nothing but a religious hack.

You should always ask, how does this verse stack up against what Jesus himself actually taught? If it is only proclaimed by Paul and not Jesus then I would chuck it.

If I claimed to have had a vision of Jesus and he told me that Christianity has it all wrong, would you believe me? No. So why do you believe Paul's self-testimony? I don't understand how Paul even got elevated to have the same authority as Jesus. Jesus had to perform miracles to prove who he was, all Paul did was write about himself. WTF?

It says what it says and it's not open for interpretation.
Sin is sin and those that condone it by their silence are just as guilty as those that commit it.

I assume you are referring to Romans 1:27.
It has nothing to do with homosexuality as we know it now, and everything to do with pagan forms of temple-worship. Paul believed that paganism led people to sexual perversions - he has nothing to say about sexual acts themselves.

Are you suggesting that born again Christians should kill gay people and eveyone who accepts gay people? I don't think you have a big enough army, buddy.
