Metabolism is a process of digestion, absorption and assimilation of nutrients. A good probiotic/Digestive enzyme blend from a health food store would be a great start. Make sure they come from a fridge, as these enzymes are live, and need to be refridgerated at all time.
Yogurt is full of enzymes when noted on the container, as well a specialty milks. Fresh fruits like papayas, pineapple and apple, will break down various meat proteins. Eat a raw salad with dark green lettuce and/or spinach, and 3-4 bright colored vegetables. When your food is digested, absorbed and assimilated properly, you will increase your metabolism, and use your nutrients for energy more readily. A product called 'Greens+' by genuinehealth.com is also excellent. Apply this new energy to some cardio like walking non-stop, at a brisk pace, for 3-5 1 hour sessions a week. Good Luck

I want to suggest the 3-hour diet, by Jorge Cruise. You can check it out from the library or maybe find more infomation online. But basically its a way of eating that naturally boosts your matabolism. You eat foods that are good for you, in small portions throughout the day, then end with a bigger meal for dinner. You stop eating a few hours before bed time.

Also, doing a bit of aerobics in the evening, keeps the matabolism up while you sleep.

Start exercising. The more muscle your body has, the more efficiently it (your body) will burn fat and the higher your metabolism will be.

Good luck!
