What does it mean? My dad used to tell me to go and play tiddly winks with man hole covers?

Tiddly Winks is the Game with small plastic disks where you make one Tiddly Wink jump by pressing a second Tiddly Wink down on the edge of the first. Obviously a man hole cover weighs much more than a Tiddly Wink and you wouldn't be able to to do this.

He's either teasing you, trying to get rid of you, sending you on a fool's errand, or testing your brain power.

My Mother told my brother to go play in traffic. He got a card board box and went and sat in the middle of the road. A county road truck driver came by and said he didn't want to hit the box so he drove onto the shoulder. After passed he looked in the mirror and my brother popped up from his box..

But be careful - a long time ago a lady I knew told her toddler who was being a nuisance to go play under ( not with) a truck and he did. They found him playing under a parked truck, which if it had moved would have killed him.
She vowed to be careful teasing in future.
