as long as they are looked after corectly they can last an extreemly long time. our birds moult outside quite often and although we collect the important feathers, the body feather tend to disintegrate after being rained on burried in gravel pooped on ect. The ones we have inside are kept in vases, old pringles tubes or tins, usually with mothballs cos moths will eat them.
