i'm having trouble. i don't get if the question is saying that i should use different kinds of liquids to do the experiment or do i use ONLY one kind of liquid such as fresh water to do the experiment like putting one cup of fresh water outside and put another cup indoors.

the fact that you give both possibilities shows that you get it.

actually there are several degrees of freedom:

water, salty water, olive oil. (not alcohol too dangerous.)

cold, warm, hot.

dry air, humid air.

Yes, liquids evaporate at different rates. Gasoline evaporates faster than water, for example. Liquids evaporate faster at higher temperatures and lower air pressures.

Look up the different boiling temperature .Alcohol will evaporate at about 90 deg.F.
